Biography
Manolis Grafakos is an economist. He studied Economics at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the Aegean, a Master’s degree in Banking from the Hellenic Open University and a Master’s degree in “Tourism Planning, Management and Policy” from the Aegean University. He is a PhD candidate at the University of the Aegean.
From 2019 until today he is the General Secretary of Waste Management Coordination at the Ministry of Environment & Energy. From 2012 to 2019, he was the General Secretary of the Municipality of Metamorfosi. From 2010 to 2011, he was the President of the Intermunicipal Association for the sustainable development of “21 OTAs”, for the municipalities of the northern sector of Attica. From 2007 to 2010, he was the Mayor of Melissia, Attica. From 2004 to 2006, he was the Deputy Director at the Psychiatric Hospital of Attica. He has worked in the private sector from 1994 to 2004, as a financial business consultant.
